We had a prestigious guest visit our datacenter today – lisp.cisco.com

For about an hour today, from 11:50AM – 12:50PM PDT, we were able to host  lisp.cisco.com in our NYC Datacenter Facility . This was done without GSLB or DNS name changes, but instead with Datacenter mobility code available in IOS. Through the use of LISP dynamic-eids, we were able to move the individual host IP addresses from servers in San Jose to some B-series servers in our Cisco UCS farm in NYC. We chose dynamic-eids as the migration method, because dynamic-eids provide the option to register to mapping servers other than our own.  While we provide our own LISP mapping and proxy infrastructure for our customers, the addresses for  lisp.cisco.com are registered to the LISP Beta network and use a totally separate infrastructure that we access through the DDT root .  We were able to use the same equipment to simultaneously support...

At the 2012 Cisco Live! CCIE Net-Vet luncheon, our Lawrence Suciu had some fun with John Chambers. "Excuse me, John, before we get started, would you mind putting on a LISP T-Shirt?"  As you can see, John Chambers was a great sport.     Do you share our enthusiasm for LISP? Let us know.
